SOUTHFIELD, MI. – MARCH 19, 2020 – Big Boy Restaurants is now offering a wide selection of food products available for kitchens across Michigan COVID-19 crisis.
Big Boy® will be increasing production of their house-made soup, produced in the Big Boy Food Group commissary in Warren, MI to support a one for one community match program benefiting Meals on Wheels.
“Meals on Wheels is for seniors, 60+ who are home-bound due to health issues and our concern is the impact the COVID-19 virus will have on our operations.” Said Steve Haveraneck, Oakland Meals on Wheels Vice President. “We have moved to a 21 meal drop for each senior to help us prepare for potential distribution delays. A donation from Big Boy and the community can go a long way to ensuring we continue to feed our most vulnerable population, home-bound seniors.”
Beginning today, guests may order and donate soup for a senior online. With each order received at bigboy.dineloyal.com, one Meals On Wheels senior will receive 20 cups of soup and 2 liters of mango juice. “Giving back to our community in a great time of need is an important value of the Big Boy brand.” Said Jon Maurer, Vice President of Marketing, Big Boy. “Big Boy will match one for one with each soup purchased for Meals on Wheel. We are asking the community for support, together with our match, a $10 donation will feed one senior soup for a month.”
